Now it’s December and advent has started; we are counting down the days until Christmas Day. The Christmas trees are decorated, a wreath is hanging the mansion door entrance and each fireplace is dressed with gorgeous garland. To make the most of this festive time, we have plenty of celebrations going on at Stoke Park – with various events to cater for all ages to enjoy!

Electric vehicles are growing in popularity due to the benefits including cost advantages over petrol, the experience of a quiet and smooth drive and reduced environmental impacts as no tailpipe emissions are produced. With these advantages in mind, we have recently installed new electric charging units in our car park, complimentary for our Members and guests.

Remember, remember the 5th of November... It’s time to wrap up warm, purchase a few sparklers and head outside to enjoy the traditional celebrations of Bonfire Night. No matter where you are, the skies are guaranteed to be lit up with magical colours as fireworks can be seen for miles and miles.

How is it October half term already? Where does the time go? It feels as though summer was only yesterday, especially with the glorious autumnal sunshine we’ve been lucky to have so far this season. With the kids on holiday again, it’s time to start thinking of ways to them occupied...

As the nights draw in early and we prepare for those frosty mornings, we’ve closed our grass courts for another year. It was a fabulous summer here at Stoke Park and was wonderful to see so many of our Members and guests making the most of the glorious weather out on the courts.

Where have the summer holidays gone? We cannot believe just how fast the summer has been and gone... Did you manage to spend some special time at Stoke Park? Kids definitely did! Whether you left your children to explore the grounds, pick up a tennis racket or hit a golf ball, there were plenty of activities to keep the youngsters entertained in the sun.

This month we celebrate Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown’s 300th Birthday. Born in Kirkharle parish, Northumberland, Brown was baptised on the 30th August, 1716. To celebrate his anniversary, we look back over his career and the history that he has with Stoke Park.

When I started work at Stoke Park a few months ago, I made a bucket list of things I want to do whilst working at a 5* Country Club, Hotel and Spa. At the top of the list; I wanted to take the opportunity to play golf. Despite being a keen sportswoman, apart from a few games of ‘crazy golf’, I have never played the sport before.

The countdown has begun for the eagerly awaited social event of the summer here at Stoke Park. From the 21st – 25th June, The Boodles is returning to celebrate its 15th year.
